Vietnam, China latest to reach deals for games

MLB on precipice of renewed success

Major League Baseball is gaining in popularity abroad at the same time it ramps up its presence domestically.

MLB Intl. has reached new deals with VTC3 in Vietnam and Tianjin TV and Xiamen Satellite TV in China to carry programming and games. And just after the current season started, MLBI renewed broadcast agreements with 12 rights holders from around the world including ESPN, Fox Sports and DirecTV.

Baseball also extended agreements with rights holders including OBS and OBS W (Korea), One HD (Australia), Mejia Group and IASN (Colombia) and TV Marti (Cuba).

Baseball’s international arm now has agreements with 102 television and radio partners to broadcast in 20 languages to fans in 220 countries and territories around the world.
