ABC made its first frosh renewals Thursday, handing full-seasons pickups to drama “Revenge” and comedy “Suburgatory” after strong showings Wednesday.
The network is also ordering six scripts of second-year comedy “Happy Endings,” which perked up 18% in the 18-49 demo on Wednesday in the absence of “The X Factor.” The Fox series got bumped due to a rain delay for the American League Championship Series.
“Suburgatory” and “Revenge”have both delivered year-to-year improvements for the Alphabet in their respective 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. timeslots. “Suburgatory” has averaged a 3.2 rating/9 share with 9.2 million total viewers (live plus same-day), while “Revenge” has drawn a 2.8/7 and 8.5 million following “Happy Endings.”
