Weekend box office champ “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” will have its network television premiere in 2013 on ABC Family thanks to the network’s deal with Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

Directed by Rob Marshall and starring Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Geoffrey Rush, “On Stranger Tides” earned an estimated $346 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

“Audiences love this franchise the world over for its excitement, charm and all-out sense of good fun,” said Tom Zappala, ABC Cable Networks Group exec VP of program acquisitions and scheduling. “We’re thrilled to add this installment, in addition to the first three ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films, to our theatrical slate.”

The previous three “Pirates” films had their network premiere on USA, but when the latest premieres on ABC Family, all four will be part of that channel’s theatrical slate.
