Legendary Entertainment has named J. Martin Willhite as general counsel. Willhite was previously a partner at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where his clients include WMA during its merger with Endeavor and Spyglass Entertainment principals Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum during their transition to MGM.

Melissa Miller Ormond has been upped to prexy of MSG Entertainment. Ormond has been interim head of MSG Entertainment since earlier this year, in addition to serving as the division’s chief operating officer since 2008.

NBCUniversal has promoted Bear Fisher to senior VP of brand strategy and creative director for the Style Network, while Bob Pederson has been appointed veep of on-air creative. A 10-year NBCU vet, Fisher was previously senior VP and creative director for both E! and Style. Pederson joins the cabler from Film Independent, where he was marketing director.

Participant Media has tapped Chad Boettcher as exec veep of social action and advocacy. He was most recently senior veep of social innovation at praisery Weber Shandwick. Gary Frenkel has been appointed senior veepee of digital products and communities for TakePart, Participant Media’s digital arm. Frenkel spent the past five years at Fox Interactive Media.

Jonathan Gibs has joined NBC-Universal as senior veep of digital research for its Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media wing. Gibs was previously a senior veep at Nielsen Co.

Preferred Content has upped Christine D’Souza to veep of content sales and project finance. D’Souza has been with Preferred Content since July 2010, when she came on board as director of sales and finance.
