Univision Communications has tapped former AOL and NBC Universal TV exec Randy Falco for the newly created position of exec VP and chief operating officer as it continues to strengthen its management team.
Falco will oversee revenue-driving operations for the company, including ad sales, distribution sales and affiliate relations, as well as corporate marketing, research and corporate business development.
Based in New York, he will report to Univision prexy and CEO Joe Uva.
Falco was most recently chairman and CEO of AOL. After leaving AOL, he was a consultant to Comcast as it prepped its acquisition of NBC U.
Before AOL, Falco spent more than 30 years at NBC U, culminating with the position of prexy and COO and a purview that included NBC-U’s Telemundo. He left NBC in 2006 after Jeff Zucker replaced outgoing chief Bob Wright.
Falco joins an executive leadership team that includes Univision Networks prexy Cesar Conde, Univision Interactive Media prexy Kevin Conroy, senior executive VP and chief financial officer Andrew Hobson and executive VP and general counsel C. Douglas Kranwinkle, all of whom will continue to report to Uva.
