NBCUniversal cable sales guru Frances Manfredi has been upped to prexy of NBCUniversal cable and new media distribution.
Manfredi is responsible for many high-profile deals at NBCU over the past few years, including the off-net sale of “30 Rock” in 2009 and sales of “Law & Order,” “House,” “Las Vegas” and “The Office”; she also spearheaded the sale of Universal Pictures’ 2011 and 2009 slates to USA and the partnership between NBCU and American Airlines.
The exec also spearheaded NBCU’s first licensing foray with Netflix in 2007.
Manfredi will have a dual report to NBC Broadcasting chairman chairman Ted Harbert and Universal vice chairman and chief operating officer Rick Finkelstein.”By more closely aligning her work with cable and the film group, we will streamline our efforts with the goal of continuing to grow and expand our business in this important area,” Finkelstein said.
Manfredi joined what the then the NBC Enterprises division in 2001. She was most recently upped to exec veep and general sales manager of cable and non-theatrical sales for NBCU TV Distribution in 2007.
