Prior to her role as first assistant to Media Rights Capital co-CEOs Asif Satchu and Modi Wiczyk, Settli had never worked in film, television or, for that matter, anywhere near the entertainment business. That all changed in 2009 when Settli decided to forgo her job on Wall Street to pursue her interest in film. She arranged an interview at MRC and bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles. Two days and five rounds of interviews later, Settli had the job. As the jack-of-all-trades at MRC, Settli serves as a liaison for MRC’s film, television, finance, corporate and sales divisions, while simultaneously working alongside the CEOs to facilitate filmmaker and showrunner deals with the likes of David Fincher and Robert Zemeckis. Most recently she has been working “intensely” alongside Neill Blomkamp, coordinating casting, organizing last-minute pre-production details and maintaining the secrecy surrounding his highly anticipated script “Elysium,” which he’s also directing. The film stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. When she isn’t supervising production or overseeing digital distribution, Settli is responsible for managing and hiring MRC’s assistant group, while leading the company’s executive trainee program. “One of the things I really like about this job is it’s very hectic,” she says.
