ITV restructures ad team

Adam Crozier's shake up leads to staff changes

ITV has restructured its commercial airtime sales team in a move designed to help the terrestrial giant achieve the aim of becoming a global multiplatform broadcaster.

The changes, the latest to emerge from CEO Adam Crozier’s strategic review, are understood to involve the departure of five senior execs, including highly regarded sales director Gary Digby.

Initiative is spearheaded by commercial and online director Fru Hazlitt, appointed by Crozier last summer. She said: “No one is better (than ITV) at delivering linear, free-to-air programming and monetizing that content, but we have to evolve to become the U.K.’s most powerful marketing platform in what is a rapidly changing, challenging and competitive market.”

On the new team are Kelly Williams, who left Channel 5 in November, and Simon Daglish from Fox Interactive Media U.K.

Williams will take over Digby’s role, while Daglish takes on a new post heading multiplatform and partnerships at ITV.

ITV, which under Digby’s leadership grew sales last year by an estimated 15.4% to 18%, hopes to pull in extra revenue by adopting a more coordinated approach between broadcast and online ad sales.
