Rapper and dancer M-Bone of the South Central L.A. rap unit Cali Swag District, who scored a big 2010 hit with “Teach Me How to Dougie,” was shot to death May 15 in a drive-by attack in Inglewood. He was 22.

Police said the musician, whose real name was Montae Ray Talbert, was shot twice in the head while he sat in a car outside a liquor store. He later died in a local hospital.

Cali Swag District broke through with “Dougie,” a dance hit that featured the four group members rapping over a spare, slack beat. The track reportedly sold more than 2 million downloads and reached No. 9 on the national R&B chart.

Follow-up singles “Where You Are” and “Kickback” peaked at Nos. 45 and 91, respectively, on the R&B chart.

A Capitol-distributed album, “Kickback,” is scheduled for release in October.
