HAF sets up script development prize

Chinese-language projects will be eligible

HONG KONG — The Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) has set up a HK$100,000 ($12,860) award to help young filmmakers from Chinese-speaking territories in Asia develop scripts.

The fund will be awarded to one winner selected from qualified project submissions. Any director who has made no more than three films is eligible to apply. Selection is based on the project’s artistic and commercial qualities.

The reading committee includes Chinese helmer Ning Hao, Hong Kong’s Patricia Cheng and Jacob Wong,

The winner will be announced during the HAF awards ceremony on March 23 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
