Disney Channel animated hit “Phineas and Ferb” will come to life this summer with a live stage show that will hit more than 80 U.S. cities.
“Disney’s Phineas and Ferb! The Best Live Tour Ever!” will open Aug. 21 in Lakeland, Fla. Bradley Zweig is the writer, and Fred Tallaksen will direct and choreograph.
The stage show will follow the franchise’s first original movie, “Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension,” scheduled to premiere on Disney Channel in August.
Songs such as “Squirrels in My Pants” have always played an integral role in “Phineas and Ferb,” the most-watched animated TV series among kids 9-14 for the past three years, giving the show’s creators numerous options to build their story upon.
“Disney Channel has created an extraordinarily popular TV series that offers humor for multiple generations,” said producer Alana Feld of Feld Entertainment. “The dynamic characters, witty humor and inspired music from the television series set the perfect foundation.”
