Off Broadway’s Vineyard Theater will produce a full production of “Now. Here. This,” the latest musical from the creators of scrappy Broadway transfer “[title of show].”
New tuner, which was seen in a developmental lab production at the Vineyard in June, marks a reunion of “[title of show]” cast members Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff, along with music director Larry Pressgrove and helmer Michael Berresse.
Whereas “[title of show]” was written solely by Bell and Bowen, the new musical is created by the entire team and has a book by Bell and Blackwell with music and lyrics by Bowen. Berresse helms and choreographs with Pressgrove, who appeared in “[title of show]” as the sole musician and here leads a four-piece band.
Billed as a “theatri-concert,” the autobiographical show centers on stories and songs about living in the moment.
The Vineyard was one of the stops “[title of show]” made prior to landing in 2008 on Broadway, where it gained cult popularity but folded after 3 1/2 months.
“Now. Here. This” will play the Vineyard in March and April, with exact dates still to be nailed down.
