Kingston toplines ‘Luise Miller’

Felicity Jones joins Michael Grandage's production

Alex Kingston (“ER”) will join Felicity Jones (“Like Crazy”) in Michael Grandage’s forthcoming production of “Luise Miller” at the Donmar Warehouse. It’s set to open June 13 and run through July 30.

Best known as an opera by Verdi, “Luise Miller” is a thriller of power and sexual politics by Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805), whose “Mary Stuart” was an award-winning Donmar hit in the West End and on Broadway. Designed by Peter McKintosh and lit by Paule Constable (“War Horse”), the cast comprises Max Bennett, Ben Daniels, David Dawson, Lloyd Everitt, Paul Higgins, John Light, Alexander Pritchett and Finty Williams.

In other casting news, “The History Boys” graduates Samuel Barnett and Jamie Parker will play the title roles in “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead” at the Theater Royal Haymarket. The revival of Tom Stoppard’s first full-length play also stars Tim Curry and is helmed by Trevor Nunn. It runs June 6-Aug. 20 following a three-week run at Chichester Festival Theater.
