Fox has its first Stooge, closing a deal for Will Sasso to portray Curly Howard in the Farrelly brothers’ “The Three Stooges” pic.

Sasso’s small-screen credits include “MadTV” and “$#*! My Dad Says.” He was seen Warner’s “Life As We Know It” opposite Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel.

Casting of Sasso comes after helmers Peter and Bobby Farrelly were looking to set Johnny Knoxville as Moe Howard in their modern update of “Stooges.” The Farrellys developed “The Three Stooges” for years at MGM before Fox took over the project.

Conundrum partner Bradley Thomas will produce with Charles B. Wessler, while Earl Benjamin, the gatekeeper of the Stooges’ estate, will exec produce.

Shemp Howard was the original third Stooge along with Moe Howard and Larry Fine before his youngest brother Curly Howard assumed the role.

The Farrellys’ plan is to divide the PG-rated film into three, 27-minute segments driven by physical comedy.

Sasso’s repped by APA.
