W2 Media sings for Beach Boys pic

Foreign rights picked up for Aaron Eckhart-starrer 'The Drummer'

Marking a major deal at the American Film Market, W2 Media has inked a mid-seven figure advance for international sales on Aaron Eckhart-biopic “The Drummer,” about the Beach Boys drummer-songwriter Dennis Wilson.

Julie Sultan, who brokered the deal with John Flock on behalf of W2, will be shopping around the pic to potential market buyers.

”We are excited to be in business again with Julie and John having worked with them on ‘Nobel Son,”’ said producer Jody Savin.

The Drummer,” which follows the last six years of Wilson’s life, is directed by Randy Miller, who co-wrote the script with Savin and is producing through the duo’s Unclaimed Freight banner. Music vet Brad Rosenberger also serves as producer.

Jonathan Gardner of Cohen Gardner negotiated the deal for the filmmakers.
