Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Films have come together on a distribution pact through which Universal will distribute six Gold Circle films between 2012 and 2014.

Universal will distribute two films a year starting next year with the romantic comedy “Sammy,” which Gold Circle currently has in development.

Previous projects for Gold Circle and Universal include “The Fourth Kind” and “Slither.”

Gold Circle prexy Paul Brooks said he enjoyed working with Universal on earlier films and that recent exec changes at both companies led to the new pact.

“We had always had a mutually profitable relationship in the past,” Brooks told Variety. “When both of our organizations were going through changes me and Adam (Fogelson, Universal chairman) had a conversation about getting back together again, and here we are now.”

Gold Circle Films was a key backer of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” Its other upcoming projects include “The Haunting in Georgia” and “Hair of the Dog.”
