Ted Field has come onboard as a producer of Fiore Films biopic “Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father.”

Fiore Films spokesman Steve Honig told Variety on Thursday that Field had become attached to “Gotti” along with Marc Fiore. Field heads Radar Pictures and his producer credits include “The Invention of Lying,” “Jumanji,” “The Last Samurai” and “Runaway Bride.”

James Toback co-wrote the script, along with director Barry Levinson and Leo Rossi. Cast includes John Travolta, Al Pacino, Chazz Palminteri, Ben Foster and Kelly Preston. Levinson and Toback teamed on “Bugsy.”

The shingle acquired life rights last year from John Gotti, Jr., the son of the late mob boss John Gotti, to the story of his life with his father. The biopic will focus on the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave that world behind.

Fiore and Levinson met with buyers during the Cannes Film Festival.

Honig said Thursday that there’s no start date yet for production.
