20th Century Fox will release Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s “The Three Stooges” domestically on April 4, 2012, which is the Wednesday before the Good Friday holiday weekend.

Pic will be the only family comedy opening that frame, as it will go up against Universal’s R-rated laffer “American Reunion,” Summit’s thriller “The Cold Light of Day” and Paramount’s 3D re-release of James Cameron’s “Titanic.”

Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulos star as the beloved knuckleheads Larry, Curly and Moe, respectively.

Story follows the trio as they try to save their childhood home while becoming embroiled in an oddball murder plot and stumbling into starring in a successful reality TV show.

Jane Lynch, Jennifer Hudson, Sofia Vergara, Craig Bierko, Stephen Collins and Larry David co-star, with the latter thesp playing a long-suffering nun who can’t wait to unload the young Stooges upon some unsuspecting family.

The Farrellys are producing alongside Bradley Thomas and Charles B. Wessler.
