NEW YORK — The end is nigh! Well, at least that’s what Michael Shannon’s character envisions in Sony Pictures Classics’ “Take Shelter,” which preemed Sept. 8 at Landmark Sunshine. Ready for the apocalypse? The cast and execs who gathered for the afterparty at the Vault at Pfaff’s said they try not to think about it.“I guess I’d rather go sooner than later,” Shannon said. “Damn, that’s a tough one. I just wouldn’t want to watch my family suffer. That’s all I know.” “Apocalypse is apocalypse. It’s all the same. It’s over,” said SPC’s Michael Barker. If it were to happen, though, he’d like to be with his wife, daughters and cats, Pepper and Knucklehead. Jessica Chastain, however, would stick around for the grand finale. And if the end brings locusts, she’s the girl to have in your corner. “I don’t mind bugs,” she said.
