Rock and Royalty theme to Race to Erase MS

Fashion dominates charity gala

The 18th annual Race to Erase MS charity gala co-chaired by Nancy Davis and Tommy Hilfiger brought its Rock and Royalty theme to new heights Friday night with a guest list that included L.A. royalty from such socialites as Paris Hilton to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Though the Brit wedding had aired just hours before the star-studded dinner, look-alikes were already sporting Kate and Pippa Middleton wedding outfit replicas and posing with elegantly dressed attendees at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.

Inside, the gala included a fashion show for Andy Hilfiger’s new line, Andrew Charles, and performances by Clay Walker and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts that had party guests on their feet and loosening their neckties.

After the fashion show, Cindy Crawford took to the podium and while complimenting the models said, “I don’t know how I dodged that bullet, but I got out of that tonight!”

Comedian Mark Curry called the gala’s big budget live auction along with Shaun Robinson, but couldn’t help first joking about the meal: “I’ve never had a salad, a shrimp and a cheese sandwich all at once! But hey that’s what life is all about, be you, be different! That salad looked so nice I didn’t know whether to eat it or take a picture.”
