Edward R. Pressman has paired up with Union Entertainment to develop and produce the alien invasion pitch “Invasion Earth!” as a film and videogame property.

Anthony Hickox and Peter Atkins are penning the project that revolves around an astronaut who, after years of isolation in space, returns to a chaotic Earth where mankind is suddenly at the bottom of the food chain.

Pressman will produce through his Edward R. Pressman Film shingle. Union’s Richard Leibowitz also produces, while the management company’s creative director, Dan Jevons, will exec producer.

The film and game will be shopped to studios and publishers as packages once talent is attached.

Pressman recently produced “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” at Fox and is behind the reboot of “The Crow.”

“‘Invasion Earth!’ is exactly the kind of project Union loves because it works perfectly as both film and videogame, though each can stand independently,” Leibowitz said.

Union is a management and production shingle focused on the videogame biz. It recently produced the game “The Darkness” and is developing the pics “Zero G,” “Blacklight” and “Agent in Place.”

Deal for “Invasion Earth!” was negotiated by Edward R. Pressman Film chief operating officer Jon Katz and Howard Bliss, on behalf of Union Entertainment.
