‘Phillip Morris’ duo to launch Zaftig Films

John Requa, Glenn Ficarra form shingle with Charlie Gogolak

Hollywood veterans John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Charlie Gogolak have formed Zaftig Films, which aims to focus on comedy projects.

The banner is also hoping to foster projects in all genres that revolve around unique characters.

Requa and Ficarra co-directed Jim Carrey-Ewan McGregor starrer “I Love You Phillip Morris” and the upcoming Warner Bros. comedy “Crazy Stupid Love,” starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Julianne Moore.

Their writing credits include “Bad Santa” and “Cats and Dogs.”

“We’d like to make great movies, pretty good TV shows and unwatchable stage plays,” the duo said. “This is our big chance.”

Gogolak has worked for more than a decade at management/production banner Benderspink, where he repped Requa and Ficarra.

“I’ve been working with John and Glenn for a long time and the new endeavor seems a natural outgrowth of our relationship,” he said. “We’re looking forward to developing projects for all mediums.”
