LONDON — Optimum Releasing, the U.K. arm of StudioCanal, has promoted acquisitions manager Alison Meese to head of U.K. acquisitions.

She replaces Berenice Fugard, who is taking a new position as acquisitions consultant to StudioCanal.

The reshuffle was announced by Optimum CEO Danny Perkins.

“Alison has been with the company for many years, and has always shown great insight and knowledge in evaluating projects for us,” said Perkins. “With this new structure, I am sure that we will be well positioned to continue sourcing the very best titles for the company to release in the U.K. and across the group.”

Both Meese and Fugard will work with their counterparts at StudioCanal’s French and German operations on multiterritory acquisitions, as well as on picking up projects for the international sales arm.

Isabelle Stewart has been promoted to acquisitions manager for Optimum.

Beginning Sept. 1, Optimum and German arm Kinowelt will both change their names to StudioCanal to create a single brand for the French company as a European studio.
