New York U. to establish documentary production fund

Created from coin donated by producer Landsburg

Veteran producer Alan Landsburg has given $100,000 to New York U.’s Tisch School of the Arts to establish a docu production fund.

Coin will support the work of grad students and undergrads in Tisch’s Kanbar Institute of Film and Television. Money will go to students looking to make docs about people and social issues that are not otherwise well-known.

NYU grad Landsburg, who is a member of the Dean’s Council of Tisch, counts doc “Kennedy, The First Thousand Days” and TV skeins “That’s Incredible” and “In Search Of” among his credits, along with a number of telepics.

Docu production fund is the first of its kind for Tisch.
