‘Narnia’ producer found dead in NYC

Writer, director, producer Perry Moore was 39

“Chronicles of Narnia” series exec producer Perry Moore was found dead in his Soho apartment on Thursday morning. Cause of death has not been determined. He was 39.

Moore, an outspoken gay Christian, was instrumental in Walden Media’s acquisition of the licensing rights to the “Narnia” franchise.

In addition to his contributions to “Narnia,” Moore wrote and directed the 2008 Sissy Spacek/Rebecca Romijn starrer “Lake City” with his partner Hunter Hill.

Moore’s affinity for children’s literature didn’t begin and end with C.S. Lewis — in 2010, he and Hill were producers on Spike Jonze and Lance Bangs’ docu “Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait of Maurice Sendak.” He also wrote the young adult novel “Hero,” about a gay superhero rejected by his teammates who devotes himself to fighting prejudice as well as crime.
