Thomas McDonell, who’s set to make his big-screen debut in “Prom,” has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ “Dark Shadows,” directed by Tim Burton.

Johnny Depp has long been attached to play the vampire Barnabas Collins and McDonell will portray the younger version of Collins. Michelle Pfeiffer, Bella Heathcoate and Eva Green are also attached.

Seth Grahame-Smith has penned the script, and Depp, Graham King, Richard Zanuck, Christi Dembrowski and David Kennedy are producing the big-screen version of the supernatural ABC TV series, which ran from 1966 to 1971.

Warner Bros. acquired the rights from show creator Dan Curtis in 2007 but it hasn’t yet set a release date.

McDonell is repped by WME.
