Veteran exec Maxine Leonard is ankling Graham King’s GK Films to launch her own marketing and publicity consultancy.

“With the upswing in the international marketplace as evidenced at the European Film Market in Berlin this year, the time is right for me to branch out with my own company after an incredible time working with Graham and the team at GK Films,” said Leonard.

The company will emphasize corporate publicity for entertainment companies and international marketing and publicity for theatrical feature films. Leonard will start by handling Lisa Wilson’s Parlay Films (a GK affiliate) in all areas.

Leonard most recently served as senior VP, marketing and publicity at GK Films. She joining the company in 2006 as it launched “The Departed and “Blood Diamond” and worked on “The Young Victoria,” “Edge of Darkness,” “The Tourist” and the upcoming “The Rum Diary” and Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo Cabret.”

Prior to GK Films, Leonard handled marketing and publicity for Myriad Pictures and spent seven years at Denmead Marketing.
