Maggenti to pen ‘My Name is Memory’

Chernin/New Regency project is adapted from Ann Brashares series

Maria Maggenti has come on board as a writer on “My Name Is Memory” for Chernin Entertainment and New Regency.

Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark are producing for Chernin Ent. with Fox 2000 financing and distributing.

Pic is an adaptation of Ann Brashares’ first novel in a three-book series centering on a college-age couple whose souls have been reincarnated over hundreds of years. Brashares’ “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” series was adapted into two films.

New Regency and Chernin won a bidding battle for the rights in 2009.

Maggenti has been an active scribe on the Fox lot of late. She recently wrote Fox’s tween-targeted “Monte Carlo,” slated for release July 1, and is at work on “Before I Fall,” a Fox 2000 young adult book adaptation.

Scribe is repped by APA and Madhouse.
