Steven Knight, writer of “Dirty Pretty Things” and “Eastern Promises” is making his directorial debut on “Hummingbird,” set to star Jason Statham.
IM Global, headed by Stuart Ford, will fully finance the action drama.
Paul Webster and Tracey Seaward produce the $20 million project that stars Statham stars as a damaged ex-Special Forces soldier trapped in London’s criminal underworld.
Pic will shoot on location in London in early 2012.
“We had a great experience making ‘Safe’ with Jason and we’re excited to team him with a director-producer team as sophisticated as Steven, Paul and Tracey,” Ford said.
Steven Knight is co-repped by CAA and United Agents in London. His attorney is George Davis at Nelson/Davis. Statham is repped by CAA and Current Entertainment. CAA also reps the film’s North American distribution rights.
