Ian Ziering joins ‘Dad’ cast

Thesp to play Adam Sandler in pic

“Beverly Hills, 90210” alum Ian Ziering may not look anything like Adam Sandler, but that won’t stop him from playing the comedian in the Columbia Pictures comedy “I Hate You Dad.”

Andy Samberg stars as Sandler’s estranged son, whose birth resulted from an underage Sandler impregnating his attractive teacher. Ziering is set to cameo as himself playing Sandler’s character in a TV movie within “Dad” that concerns the controversial copulation.

Official logline finds Sandler moving in with Samberg and his fiancée Leighton Meester on the eve of their wedding, only to immediately start feuding with the bride-to-be.

Sean Anders and John Morris (“Sex Drive”) are directing the laffer, which co-stars James Caan and rapper Vanilla Ice. Sandler is producing through his Happy Madison banner along with Jack Giarraputo and Heather Parry.

“I Hate You Dad” is scheduled for release on June 15, 2012.

Ziering, who has a couple of feature projects in the works, recently appeared in the indie spoof “The Legend of Awesomest Maximus” and guest starred on an episode of “CSI: NY.”

Ziering is repped by Rebel Entertainment Partners and McGowan Management.
