Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman have joined “The Hunger Games,” rounding out the pool of 24 death-match contestants in Lionsgate’s young-adult pic.

Ludwig, last seen in “Race to Witch Mountain,” will play the brutish, villainous Cato, one of the last tributes standing in the annual contest. His fellow tribute, Clove, will be played by Fuhrman, who starred as the chilling young girl in the horror/thriller “Orphan.”

With only a small handful of roles yet to be cast, pic’s on track to start shooting later this year for a March 2012 release.

As Variety first reported, Jennifer Lawrence will play the lead role of Katniss. Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are also attached to star.

Pic is based on the bestselling young-adult novel by Suzanne Collins. Story takes place in a dystopian future, where young people are selected from the ruins of North America to participate in a televised fight to the death called the Hunger Games.

Gary Ross is directing, with Billy Ray penning the script. Nina Jacobson is producing through her Color Force shingle.

Ludwig is repped by ICM and Lucas Talent. Fuhrman is repped by CAA and Trilogy Talent.
