'Matador's Mistress' picture preps for on-demand

AUSTIN — Gravitas Ventures has acquired VOD and digital rights to Adrien Brody-starrer “A Matador’s Mistress,” company founder and CEO Nolan Gallagher announced today in Austin.

Gravitas, which is licensing the film from Viva Pictures, plans to release the film on demand via cable, satellite, telco and online in June 2011.

Pic is helmed by Menno Meyjes and stars Brody as celebrated Spanish matador Manolete and Penelope Cruz as the vivacious woman who changes his mostly solitary life.

“We are confident no one is better positioned to exploit this epic high-value production on a digital platform,” said Viva president Victor Elizalde.
