The Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City lit up Sunday for the 20th MTV Movie Awards with young stars and starlets enjoying the show, and giggling and cringing through host Jason Sudeikis’ comedic jabs.
The fan-based voting system left “Twilight” the big winner, though the acceptance speeches turned out to be more R-rated than most of the nominated pics.
Aziz Ansari, for one, kept the censors on their toes. He came out dressed in a karate costume and cornrows, delivered an f-bomb and wanted to know the whereabouts of Jaden Smith.
Reese Witherspoon received the Generation Award after an intro from Robert Pattinson, who joked about their experience in “Water for Elephants.”
Accepting the award, Witherspoon chastized actresses who do sex tapes, claiming that she would make good girls “cool” again.
The Oscar-winning thesp then went on to correct Pattinson’s joke about being her son in “Vanity Fair” and then her lover in “Water for Elephants.” The punchline, Witherspoon noted, should have been that Pattinson is the “best motherfucker in Hollywood.”
