The MPAA has added two execs in its Washington office with the appointment of Cybele Daley as senior veep of government affairs and Anna Soellner as veepee of corporate communications. Daley comes to the org from lobbying firm Van Scoyoc Associates, where her clients included the MPAA. Soellner was previously VP of communications for the Center for American Progress progressive think tank.

Universal Music Publishing Group has promoted Monti Olson to exec veep and head of pop and rock music creative. He was previously veep of A&R. David Kokakis has advanced to senior veep and head of business and legal affairs/business development. He’s been with Universal Music Publishing Group since 2009.

Alicia Broughel has joined AMC Networks as senior counsel and compliance officer while John Derderian has been named senior counsel for AMC/Sundance Channel Global. Broughel joins the cable programmer from the law firm of Paul Hastings, where she was a senior associate. Derderian was previously an associate at Skadden, Arps and Hogan Lovells. Both execs are based in Gotham.

Scripps Networks Interactive, parent company of nets including DIY Network and HGTV, has tapped Dale Roy Robinson as director of programming for its Home unit, which includes both nets. Robinson previously worked as a freelance producer for NBC, MTV and CMT, among other nets. Heather Jagels has been upped to director of creative services for Scripps Networks.

Gabriel Brakin has been upped to senior VP of business and legal Affairs at Participant Media. Brakin joined the production company in 2008 from O’Melveny & Myers, where he was an entertainment and media attorney.

Epix has promoted Andy Hunter to g.m. of digital media applications. Based in Gotham, he reports to Epix prexy-CEO Mark Greenberg. Hunter has spent the past two years as head of marketing for the pay TV net that is a joint venture of Viacom, Lionsgate and MGM.

NBCUniversal’s Daily Candy digital net has tapped Fernando Romero as veep of advertising sales. Romero was most recently managing director of national partnerships at Gilt City, a unit of Gilt Groupe and before that was national sales director for InStyle.com

Simon Mowbray has vfx company Pixomondo as a creative director, based in Los Angeles. Mowbray comes to Pixomondo from Ntropic where he served as creative director and vfx supervisor. He previously spent 13 years as veep and creative director of Radium, a vfx firm he co-founded with Pixomondo exec creative director Jonathan Keeton.
