Emile Hirsch is set to star in “The Motel Life,” with Alan and Gabriel Polsky producing through their Polsky Films banner. No director or screenwriter has been set, though the two may take on writing and directing duties as well.

Pic, based on the tome by Willy Vlautin, centers on two brothers who flee their Reno motel room after getting involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident. The Polskys are still looking to cast the other male and female leads.

No distributor has been set, but the hope is to lense this year.

The Polskys recently produced “Bad Lieutenant: Port of New Orleans” with Nicolas Cage.

Thesp starred in the Wachowski brothers’ “Speed Racer” in 2008.

Hirsch recently wrapped “Killer Joe” and appeared in “Milk” and “Taking Woodstock.” He is repped by WME and the Collective.
