Eddie Murphy’s Oscar gig moves ‘Words’

Par shifts Dreamworks pic to post-Oscar weekend

Looking to build on Eddie Murphy’s post-Oscar momentum, Paramount Pictures has changed the release date of DreamWorks’ “A Thousand Words” to March 23, a month after the award show.

The comedy is directed by Brian Robbins and follows a man who learns he has a thousand words left to say before he dies.

The Murphy starrer was scheduled for Martin Luther King weekend — Jan. 13 — but Par’s looking to capitalize on attention for Murphy after the Oscars air on Feb. 26.

The studio has also moved Paramount Insurge pic “The Devil Inside” up to Jan. 6 from its original release date of Feb. 24.
