Stefano Gallini-Durante and “Get Low” producer Dean Zanuck are picking up “The Weight of the Butterfly,” buying feature rights to Erri De Luca’s Italian bestseller “Il Peso Della Farfalla.”
De Luca’s novel, published in 2009, is described as a “Moby Dick in the Italian Alps.” Story centers on the last mountain poacher and his personal battle against the only beast that’s eluded him for many years.
Zanuck and Gallini-Durante are teamed on psychological thriller “Voice From the Stone,” based on Italian author Silvio Raffo’s novel set in Italy in the ’50s. Shooting’s set for this summer with Hideo Nakata attached to direct.
Zanuck was a producer on “Road to Perdition.”
