Disney taps Andrew Bernstein

Executive named VP, global publicity

Walt Disney Studios has tapped Andrew Bernstein as VP, global publicity.

In the role, the former Miramax exec will specifically oversee the PR campaigns for Disney’s Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios titles, as well as “The Muppets” and Tim Burton’s “Frankenweenie.”

Bernstein joins Joe Quenqua who leads domestic PR across all titles from New York, and global brand leads in L.A. Ryan Stankevich, who handles Disney and Marvel’s live-action pics, and Stephanie Kluft, who oversees DreamWorks. All report to Michelle Sewell, senior VP of global publicity.

Bernstein most recently ran L.A. publicity for Miramax Films, working on the PR and awards campaigns for such films as “The Queen,” “No Country For Old Men,” “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” and “Doubt.” Before that, he spent seven years at MGM, during which the studio released “Hannibal,” “Legally Blonde 2,” “Barbershop,” “No Man’s Land” and “De Lovely.”

His resume also includes stints at New Line Cinema and Rogers & Cowan.
