Columbia Pictures has nabbed adaptation rights to author Joshua Foer’s tome “Moonwalking With Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything.”

Matt Tolmach will produce through his banner Matt Tolmach Prods.

“Moonwalking” follows Foer’s real-life experience as a science journo who, while covering the U.S. Memory Championship, decides to take part in the event. The book, which hit shelves on March 3, reveals Foer’s tricks for harnessing brain power to increase memory capacity.

“At a time in our lives where we have outsourced so much of our memory to technology, Josh goes on this incredible journey into the inner workings of our memory,” Tolmach said. “What he discovers is stunningly universal and profound.”

Col prexy Doug Belgrad added, “Joshua has written a book that sheds light on how memory is connected to humanity.”

New York-based publishing agent Elyse Cheney and UTA negotiated the deal for Foer.

Col’s Hannah Minghella and Rachel O’Connor will oversee the project.
