Sam Claflin is in talks to join the cast of Universal’s “Snow White and the Huntsman” as the Prince.

The project revolves around the relationship between the title character and the huntsman, who’s ordered to kill the heroine by the evil queen. In this version, the huntsman decides instead to help the girl escape, becoming her protector and mentor along the way.

Kristen Stewart is currently set to play Snow White and Charlize Theron will play the queen.

Variety first reported U has its eye on “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth as its Huntsman but the thesp is still deciding whether to take on the role or not.

Claflin had been in the mix for the role of the Prince for some time but after closing his deal on the Warner Bros./Legendary pic “Seventh Son” but now that has moved its shooting dates to January, Claflin will be able to shoot this first.

Rupert Sanders attached to direct “Snow White and the Huntsman,” with Evan Daugherty penning the script and Roth and Palak Patel producing.

Claflin can be seen next in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”
