Boneta set for Adam in ‘Paradise Lost’

'Rock of Ages' star joins Bradley Cooper and Ben Walker in heavenly epic

“Rock of Ages” star Diego Boneta is in final negotiations to play Adam, the first man on Earth, in Legendary Pictures’ “Paradise Lost.”

Alex Proyas (“The Crow”) is directing the heavenly epic, which is a big-budget adaptation of John Milton’s 17th Century poem. Bradley Cooper and Ben Walker star as warring archangels Lucifer and Michael, while Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Callan McAuliffe and Dominic Purcell co-star.

Vincent Newman is producing via his Vincent Newman Entertainment banner, while Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are also producing.

Stuart Hazeldine developed the primary draft of the screenplay, originally written by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi. Lawrence Kasdan provided a polish as well as Ryan Condal, who delivered the most recent draft. Project will fall under Legendary’s overall agreement with Warner Bros.

Boneta recently wrapped the lead in New Line’s “Rock of Ages,” which co-stars Tom Cruise. Thesp is repped by Gersh and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
