Mike Berkowitz has been named partner at APA.

Berkowitz reopened the APA New York office, when he joined the agency in 2006.

Berkowitz serves as the head of the New York office’s comedy department.

In addition to putting together major concert tours for the likes of Aziz Ansari, Michael Ian Black, Bill Burr, Broken Lizard, Louis C.K., Craig Ferguson, Jeff Garlin, Kevin Hart, Stephen Lynch, Craig Robinson and Sinbad, Berkowitz also oversees the stand-up careers of rising stars such as Wyatt Cenac, Anthony Jeselnik, Nick Kroll, T.J. Miller, John Mulaney and Nick Thune.

Berkowitz works with branded tours for Comedy Central’s official On Campus tour, FX’s The League and CollegeHumor Live. He has also assisted in selling books for his stand-up clients with APA’s Literary Department.

Berkowitz recently developed the Lucille Lortel Award winning Off Broadway show “Mike Birbiglia’s My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend” with long-time client, Mike Birbiglia; the show will be a major tour in 2012. He was also instrumental in organizing the soon to be theatrical release from Kevin Hart, “Laugh at My Pain,” which captured Hart’s 2011 record breaking tour.
