Producer Avi Lerner will be a keynote speaker at Variety’s Entertainment Content Protection Summit on Dec. 8 at the Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City.

Produced with content protection association CDSA, the second annual event will explore the latest business and tech solutions for protecting movies, games and music from piracy. Lerner joins previously announced keynote speaker Nicolas Chartier.

“Advancements in technology have revolutionized our industry and provided enjoyment to movie audiences everywhere,” Lerner said. “Piracy is causing changes to our business too. Collectively, we must protect what we produce by using technology, using our political and legal systems, our legislatures and by educating ourselves on what can and should be done to protect our business and our commerce,” the NuImage chairman added.

The Entertainment Content Protection Summit plans to take a strong stance on the problem of global piracy, showcasing innovative efforts being undertaken to frustrate pirates and bolster the security of entertainment content.
