Ascot nabs Finecut’s ‘Leafie’

Hit Korea toonpic goes to Conquest in Brazil

SEOUL — Sales house Finecut has revealed several deals inked at the American Film Market.

Ascot Elite picked up Korean animation “Leafie,” which cumed $13 million on home turf, for German-speaking territories and Conquest Filmes took Brazil. It had previously been sold to several territories, including Italy, Turkey, Indonesia, Portugal, Middle East and the former USSR countries (excluding the Baltic nations).

Hit local thriller “Blind” was sold for Japan (King Records) and Malaysia and Brunei (Hwa Yea Multimedia), after recent deals for German-speaking territories (MFA+), Taiwan (Eagle International Communication), and Thailand (STG).

Summer horror title “The Cat” was sold for Japan (Magnetar) and French-speaking territories (Mercury), in addition to its previous sales for Singapore and Malaysia (Scorpio East), Taiwan (Eagle International) and Indonesia (DCU Home Entertainment).

The comedy movie “Unstoppable Family” added deals for Japan (JoyNContents), Taiwan (Eagle International) and U.S. (CJ CGV).
