Amanda Seyfried to play Linda Lovelace

Sarsgaard also in talks for porn star biopic

“In Time” star Amanda Seyfried is in talks to play adult film star Linda Lovelace in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s drama “Lovelace.”

Peter Sarsgaard, who was last seen as the villain in “Green Lantern,” is in early talks to portray her pornographer husband Chuck Traynor.

Andy Bellin and W. Merritt Johnson wrote the script, which is based on Eric Danville’s book “The Complete Linda Lovelace.”

Eclectic Pictures’ Heidi Jo Markel will produce with Untitled’s Laura Rister and Jason Weinberg, as well

as Jim Young of Animus Films. Millennium Films’ Avi Lerner will exec produce.

Lovelace is the infamous star of the 1972 porn flick “Deep Throat,” which is one of the highest-grossing independent films of all time. She was just a Florida schoolgirl named Linda Boreman when she met Traynor, a would-be filmmaker who transformed her into a world-famous sex star.

After years of being victimized, Lovelace quit the business and divorced Traynor, who she accused of taking advantage of her naivete and coercing her into porn and prostitution.

Epstein and Friedman’s “Howl” star James Franco and Kate Hudson were previously attached to star before Hudson became pregnant.

“Lovelace” is expected to start production in December, a month before Matthew Wilder’s rival project, “Inferno” is slated to go before cameras.

Based on Lovelace’s autobiography “Ordeal,” film stars Malin Akerman and Matt Dillon as Lovelace and Traynor, as well as Paz de la Huerta in a supporting role.

Seyfried, who next stars in Heitor Dhalia’s thriller “Gone,” recently wrapped Justin Zackham’s comedy “The Wedding.”

She’s repped by Innovative Artists, while CAA and Authentic Talent and Literary Management rep Sarsgaard.

Partners on the project are Millennium Films, Eclectic Pictures and Untitled Entertainment. Eclectic’s Heidi Joe Markel, Animus Films’ Jim Young and Untitled’s Laura Rister and Jason Weinberg are producing. Millennium’s Avi Lerner is exec producing.
