Rising star Addison Timlin is in negotiations to play the female lead opposite Anton Yelchin in Stephen Sommers’ adaptation of “Odd Thomas.”
Variety first reported that Timlin was on a shortlist of young starlets vying for the coveted role of Stormy Llewellyn, the girlfriend of the title character in the supernatural thriller.
Sommers’ script, based on the bestseller by Dean Koontz, follows a clairvoyant short-order cook who encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark forces. Sommers directs and is producing for the Sommers Co., along with Fusion Films partners John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan.
Lily Collins had previously been circling the part, but after she won the role of Snow White in Relativity Media’s upcoming pic, Timlin emerged as the favorite.
“Odd Thomas” is set to start production May 2 in Santa Fe, N.M.
Timlin has been gaining biz attention since playing David Duchovny’s love interest Sasha Bingham on the most recent season of Showtime’s “Californication.” She previously appeared in the 2005 thriller “Derailed” as Clive Owen’s daughter and in the indie drama “Afterschool.”
Timlin is repped by Gersh and Management 360.
