‘Abduction’ preems at the Chinese

Stars come out for Taylor Lautner pic

An endless line of well-wishers queued up to congratulate Taylor Lautner, star of “Abduction,” at Drai’s at the W in Hollywood after the Sept. 15 Grauman’s Chinese Theater preem.

Lionsgate’s Joe Drake also sang Lautner’s praises. “He kind of reminds me of a young Tom Cruise in terms of the way he handles his business. He does exactly what he wants to do. One of the things he wants to do is be an action star,” Drake said.

Which led to Lautner’s doing his own stunts in the pic.

It was fun,” said the star. “It definitely was also making a few people nervous.”

One of his favorite stunts placed him on the hood of a car “flying down the road,” Lautner said. “I actually negotiated. They only wanted me to go 25 miles an hour. I’m like, ‘No, I need to experience this.’ I think I got it up to like 50, 55.”

Young Hollywood was out to support Lautner. Ashley Rickards and Chord Overstreet mingled around the pool and managed to escape falling in. One other partygoer wasn’t so lucky.
