BERLIN — The Zurich Film Festival is paying tribute to Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu with its career achievement award and a retrospective of his work.

Inarritu, whose works include “Biutiful,” “Babel,” “21 Grams” and “Amores perros,” will attend the fest, which runs Sept. 22-Oct.2, and give an open master class on Oct. 1.

“Inarritu produced, wrote and directed four consecutive masterpieces and with them clearly illustrated how to reach and deeply move a wide audience,” the fest said in a statement.

The helmer is set to direct American West drama “The Revenant” for Warner Bros. and Anonymous Content. – — Ed Meza
