Exclusive: CANNES — Summit has snapped up U.S. distribution rights to action thriller ”Snitch,” helmed by Ric Roman Waugh.
Pic, which toplines Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson, is being co-financed by Exclusive Media, Participant Media and Imagenation Abu Dhabi.
Exclusive Films International is handling global sales, which kicked off at Cannes this week, and title has been one of the buzz titles selling here on the market.
Exclusive is producing the pic with Johnson and his producing partner Dany Garcia as well as Frontline’s David Fanning.
”Revolutionary Road” scribe Justin Haythe penned the story, inspired by the Fronline docu.
Story follows a suburban father (Johnson) who is hit hard when his teenage son is sentenced to 10 years under mandatory minimum drug laws. In order to reduce his son’s sentence, the father goes undercover to serve up a senior drug dealer.
Exclusive have been busy here in Cannes, selling ”Snitch” to international distribs and Jake Gyllenhaal starrer ”End of Watch.
