Both penned the script, which appeared on the Black List, the annual list of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays.

Story follows a successful writer who discovers he has to pay a price for stealing another man’s work.

Michael Benaroya produces alongside Animus Films’ Jim Young and Serena Films’ Tatiana Kelly.

Laura Rister is exec producing with Cassian Elwes under their joint venture, Waterfall Media.

Lisa Wilson’s Parlay films is handling international sales and is shopping “The Words” to buyers in Cannes.

Waterfall Media and Untitled are repping U.S. rights. Quaid is repped by WME.
